Working on Some things for the granddaughters.
I'm working on some things for the granddaughters and one of the great niece's is helping me. I'm writing some books and making dolls and fairy costumes for them so they can play with the fairies or just have a tea party with them. So design 1 is a skirt and shoes and wings with a crown and wand that will all fit in a bag to travel or put away. The books are going to be made on cloth using Aunt Martha's paint which is a great paint that last usually longer than the fabric. The first books will have pics of them and pics of me making their dolls so that they will have their dolls and how they were made for them so that we can be together even tho we are several states apart.
Depending on how well they turn out I may put them and the costumes on line for sale at a cost covering price. Or the patterns for other to make them for their little fairy's.
The next books I'm working on are stories I use to tell the kids when they were little that helped them with things they were going through using the warm fuzzes's and the cold prickly's. I'm working on writing them down for the girls. I may put some on line we'll see.

How to make a Drive then Fly Trip Easier!
Helping because it's the right thing
to do!
A friend offered to drive a U-Haul to Oregon for the couple that she bought their house for her mom. When she told me she was doing this I told her I would go with her so she wasn't driving it alone. So I packed my pillow and blanket and we got on the road.

To make a trip more comfortable:
1) Pack soft and comfortable clothes.
2) Put bath stuff zip lock bag : shampoo & conditioner ant wet stuff,
razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, have your meds in a
separate zip lock.
3) Pack snacks of things you eat at home:
3) Pack snacks of things you eat at home:
like Activia yogurt so that I didn't
change my routine and my apples that I eat every night.
These things help make my trip more comfortable and I'm not eating fast food that my system doesn't like.

Next try to travel with someone who doesn't make you want to pound your head on
the glass and chant "I love my friend I will not kill them I love my friend I will not kill them I love my friend I will not kill them" lol and
most important plan for unexpected delays so that if it happens it’s no
problem. Like we planned for a full day of down time 1/2 way through the drive.
This has been the least stressful trip I have taken in years.
We drove the 9 hr the first day. That was to long if we do it again we have decided 6 hr then stop for the night, Eat a real meal walk around go to the store for any forgotten "things" then have a good dinner and go back to the hotel and rest and or sleep.
The second day we puttered around and I slept she went to the store. She slept I soaked in the tub after sitting in a U-Haul truck seat I needed it! Then I puttered around and repacked my bag and stretched out and finished my book and started one on my Kendal.
Day 3 we finished the drive, dropped off the truck and went to the hotel and had dinner. I got my backpack ready for my flight back. So everything that couldn't go
on the plane went into the suitcase I drained and dried the small
cooler and folded it flat and packed it. We got a good nights
sleep.
We passed 3 different lakes but they always seemed to be on the other side of the truck or i couldn't get the camera to work i did find out i could take my own pic with my phone even tho I was trying to take a pic out the window!
lol bad pics of me not sharing those.

Up at 5am got my wheelchair at check in at the airport I know better than to try to stand in line I would be on the floor. So pride aside "get the chair" if you have a problem standing in one place. I'm ok walking for short distances. Oh and get wheels on all your luggage!!!! So I get the bags she pushes my chair she let the guy at Salt Lake push! lol! We get through security and we board first and get the back row to our selves. She doesn't like take offs then shes out. we get through Salt Lake airport
and the 2 hr layover and then headed home a short flight to Las Vegas wheelchair picks me up at the gate and takes us to get our luggage and Her son picks us up at the airport and 2 hr drive and we are back home.
Well It was a nice trip I GOT TO SEE GREEN!!!!! AND TREES real trees. I have missed seasons and colors.
It also didn't take us a week to recover. My system was back after a good nights sleep. So all the prep for the trip made a difference.

Getting blood out
Getting blood out of light colored fabric....
l haven't needed this for awhile I used it more when I was younger and before mentalpause oops I mean menopause lol.. Ice on a bloody spot on a shirt and blotting with paper towel or cloth will remove most of the blood and the rest usually comes out in the laundry COLD WATER WASH! Heat sets blood. On more delicate items remove them and rinse wile rubbing under cold water in the sink. In a emergency the item can be washed with hand soap and dried with a hand dryer or paper towels. Put back on damp and body heat will dry them the rest of the way. When you get home or your destination change to something else and launder whenever you can.
For kids if you do not FREAK over blood they will follow you and calm down or just not be freaked over it and you can clean them up and see if its something to kiss it better or put a bandage on. If you are going to fall apart do it after you have tended to them. Then you can say you are crying cuz you're happy they all better. Or because you are happy it wasn't bad cuz you suck at sewing and they might wind up walking on their hands and then laugh and smile and tickle them and get big hugs.

Everyday things
OK I keep noticing that more and more people don't know how to do everyday things.
Like clean the copper on the bottom of their pans. When you got them they were nice and shiny and pretty then you used them and they got dark or something boiled over on them. You go to the store and look at the shelf of copper cleaners and wonder which one? And the cost $$$$$$ will it work? Well Grandma knows how and no elbow grease!!!! 2 things white Vinegar and salt clean your pan then turn it copper side up pour salt on the copper then poor a little vinegar on the salt and rub gently around and watch the copper get bright and shinny!! Rinse with hot water and dry. You may need to do this several times to get it back to being bright as new. So when you wash the pan treat the bottom till its shinny or to keep it that way.
I will try to post something every week on saving time or money or to get it clean better quicker or without the chemicals in the air you breath. If theirs something you don't know how to do or that you think there has to be a better way ask and I'll see what I can do to show you.
Remember the only dumb question is the one you don't ask.
